“I was delighted to facilitate my incomplete cervical client to partake in ‘Going the Distance’ which is the Spinal Injury Association’s bespoke eight-mile challenge which took place in London. I felt extremely proud when she managed to walk across the Millennium Bridge. This achievement was a result of her sheer determination and the hard work of the therapy team who supported her to gain the confidence and skills to make it possible. The team that I have procured for my client work well and communication is effective. This has positively impacted on the progress made by my client and the speed that goals have been achieved. I was pleased to assist a spinal injured mother to regain a positive relationship with her mother following a successful trial using independent care provider. I supported the client to be involved in all aspects of the recruitment process to ensure that the correct staff were chosen to assist with both her needs and her young children’s. I supported her to build a robust care package which has allowed her to foster further independence in the management of her spinal cord injury and the care of her children. This has assisted my client to achieve her main goal to become less reliant on her mother for support to allow the mother/ daughter relationship to be preserved.”
